KaylahF's Diary
Networking, Events, and Estates
Hi Everyone, last Monday the 10th I went to a Spark Meeting at The Prince Music Theatre. It went really well, I had the opportunity to meet with a lot of the small theatre companies in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas and was able to give them my headshot and resume. It felt great networking and really getting to meet and greet with everyone. Not only was the event good for networking but also, meeting some more people that are in the same field. Monday, March 17th I went up to West Chester to film a spokesmodel spot for Presidental Estates with Apartment Guide, that went really well. Yesterday I did an event for Teen Vogue down in Center City at The Art Institute of Philadelphia, and UARTS. The event was three hours long and was well spent. Thats about it for today!

Opening Night
"The Desperate Hours" opened last Friday, February 29th at 8:00pm, and was a huge success. We had quite a few people come out to see it, and the actors were really on there game. Overall the show went rather smoothly. We thought that an entire week off from running the show would really set us into low energy mode, but not at all. Our energy was up tonight and we once again thrust into another week of the show. Next weekend we will be closing. In other news in about a week I will be doing a script for Apartment Guide. I will also, be working an event for Teen Vogue. As well as gearing up to put The Casting Call into production, by holding a few more auditions before we start.

The Desperate Hours
Hi Guys,
Just here to update you on what iv'e been up to lately now that the new year has started and is in full swing. This past Monday I attended Kathy Wickline's Open Call again just to touch base and see how things were going. It's always good to get into the casting agents as much as possible just to touch base. I was just recently cast in a play called "The Desperate Hours" in Morrisville, Pennsylvania, as Cindy Hilliard. This is our second week in rehearsals and so far it is coming along really well. The show will be going up between February 29 through March 16, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So right now I am just creating a character for her and preparing for the show.Thursday just past I participated in a student short film called a "Sea of Something More" as a featured extra. Which was fun because I was able to network with some new people that I had met there, that were also background. So i will be updating you on more later!

Once Upon A Nation
Hi. Well today I had my Once Upon a Nation audition. I won't hear the results back until about two weeks from now. I felt good about so I can't wait to hear back from them. It was really exciting as well, I went in there and told my story about how I was an elf in a improvisation show two years back, and I condensed the show into a story format. Then I was given a cold read to do, and a puppetry act to do as well. So now that the audition is over I know that I have to take it and forget about until I hear back. So that's it for now.

Dickens Comes to An End
Well my last day as a Dickens Villager was over this past Sunday the 30th. It was time to say goodbyes to whoever was there of the cast and as well as the managers. It was a fun season and it was just nice being in that type of long run show environment again. I met a lot of great people throughout the run of it that I can't wait to work with again. Mostly everyone was doing some sort of acting of some sorts so I will most likely see them in the future. Well now that The Dickens is over it is time to get busy with "The Casting Call". The pilot that my friend Ashley and I will be producing and filming in January. We are currently in pre-production for the show and are just gearing up for our read through this Wednesday. It's going to be nice seeing all of the actors finally getting to meet everyone and seeing who they will be working with. I can't wait to get started. Well everyone have a very happy new year, and I will be writing in 2008!

Dickens Christmas Carol
Hi All,
Well just a few weeks ago I started working in the Dickens Christmas Carol at the MACY'S East in town, and I am a villager in the show. The show closes on December 31st. It's so exciting being able to work in an environment with such great actors. Even the managers are easy going and make you feel comfortable if you have a question to ask them or something happened with your shift or logging in. You know that you will always be able to feel like your apart of a small village family. I can tell that its going to be a fun run for the show. Stay tuned...

Forman Mills Audition
Hi, this will be my first entry into my DDA Diary and i'm so excited to finally be writing in it. I just recently started a job as Macy's Dickens Villager in the production A Christmas Carol that they have every season in a hide away place in Macy's. I say hide away because I think it's amazing how a whole land full of snow, and enchantment, can recreate London in the third floor of a department store. The training was amazing my best friend and I met so many people that believe in following your dreams and going for what you believe in and never letting your passion of acting going, or any passion for that matter. We believe that the next couple weeks will be great working there. Today I went on an audition for a commercial for Forman Mills, and as soon as I was on my way home and I came out of the subway, my agent called and told me the I was put on first refusal. I'm so excited now and can't wait to hear back from them. I really felt that everything went well and that I showed enough enthusiasm and let my personality shine through. I guess I will just have to wait and see.
