Well, it's been a while, but I'm back in touch now. Rueing the end of summer, missing the shore. Despite getting my relaxing time in on the beach, it's been a good and productive while since I've written, however. Several commercials, a few print ads, and look for my spread in More magazine this winter. Getting geared up for a new skating season as well. Looking forward to the season ahead!

Well, not really, but 2 auditions, and 2 first refusals! So close, and yet so far! But, better than nothing, I guess. Although, sometimes I do think it's better to hear nothing than deal with the frustration of knowing you were that close to booking. One of the refusals did turn into background, something at least. My biggest synchronized team skating competition is coming up this week, I had to turn down several auditions with shoot dates when I'm going to be away. Is it worth it? Absolutely. I might be giving up a possibility of a booking, but I am pursuing my dream. Who would have ever thought that at 50+ I could be a competitive ice-skater? As they say, better late than never! Ciao....

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. Except for one extreme bout of food poisoining this week that made me miss an important audition (I was going to give it a shot anyway, but I realized when I couldn't even climb out of bed, that I would never make it all the way to NY. Plus, I'm pretty sure that the green around the gills look was definitely not what they were going for anyway!) it's been a good one for me.

Wow, great weekend. While preparing last week to head to a skating competition in Cape Cod taking place this weekend, I get a call for an audition. So, I had to change plans and drive all night instead of all day. C'est la vie. Better than not getting the call at all. Then I find out when I was up there that I booked 2 jobs. The real icing on the Cape (not my own clever play on words, I must admit, but the name of a juvenile team at the competition), was my team taking first place in our division at the competition. A true weekend of Hanukah miracles!

I just got the final copy of a live performance I did for an upcoming TV series. The good news, it looks great, and my segment will be in the first episode. The bad news, the network is not planning on airing the series for 1-2 years. sigh. I start tomorrow on a pilot for a new series for Lifetime, let's hope that gets on a little sooner! I'm also getting ready for my first synchro skating competition of the season next weekend. Fall/Winter are my favorite seasons!

So many auditions, so little time! That's the hard part about living this area. It can get very expensive running back and forth to NY several times/week. So, you learn to pick and choose. Shooting a PSA this weekend. Something I feel strongly about too. Nice to feel like you are doing some good with your work!

I am so happy to be part of DDA's website! I am writing this as I await my ride to the Henri David Halloween costume party. Why do I enjoy dressing up and pretending to be someone else every chance I get? Right now I am trying to balance running up to NYC for auditions with my competitive ice-skating season, which means I really need to get on the ice on a daily basis from Oct-April. There was a call for skaters for work in NY, but I will be away on a business trip with my husband this weekend, so I will miss it. Why does it always seem to work out that way? A chance to combine my 2 favorite activities, skating and acting, and I have to miss it. Oh well, I know there will be other opportunities.
