The Day After
![]() It is Thursday, August 7, 2008, the day after finishing my most grueling taping. I was fortunate enough to be selected as the only "live" actor in DDA's promotional video. We spent some eight hours taping 15 different scripts. I played I.S., the Intelligent Spokesperson, although that may be questionable, and interacted with an animated seal which will be seen only when the editing process is completed. I was directed superbly by the production team of Lawrence and Jake, responded to the seal's dialogue, read by Debbie, and kept an eye on Indie the watchdog, who was most interested in watching a piece of banana bread that I was using as a prop in one of the segments. It was all worth it though as at the end of the day I experienced a feeling of being overheated and sweaty after all those hours under the lights...no, it was a great feeling of accomplishment in completing all those scripts in one day. It couldn't have happened without the professionalism of the entire DDA staff. Thanks to everyone who made my job so much easier, and thank you David and Elizabeth for having the confidence in me to achieve a first...performing with an animated seal. I eagerly anticipate seeing the completed project.

![]() ![]() ![]() Back Home
![]() After a glorious second honeymoon in California lasting four and a half months, I am back in Philadelphia. My timing heading out to LA in December couldn't have been worse. I got there in the middle of the writers strike so there was literally no work to be had for actors. I did manage to sign with a commercial agent DDO (Dorothy Day Otis), but didn't get my first audition until the week before we were to return to Philly. It was for an ESPN spot. When I got a callback, we had to change our flight. Although I didn't book the job, it might have been for the best. I was to have played the 1934 World Farting champion. Yeah, you read it right. It would have been fun, but I sure wouldn't have wanted to be typecast. I will now return to working the New York to Washington corridor by renewing associations with former New York agents, and Philadelphia Casting Directors. It's good to be home.

![]() I am spending the winter in sunny California, taking classes and developing agent contacts to pursue film, television and commercials on both coasts. When I return to Philadelphia in early April, I look forward to fulfilling your needs for whatever roles you may have available. I will update this blog as the weeks go by, sharing with you my progress on the left coast.
